Are you ready to take your product to the next level and help Queensland meet its emissions reduction targets?

If you are an ambitious and innovative founder or product owner seeking to work with Queensland industries in the race to net zero, the Low Carbon Accelerator will surround you with the expertise, and networks to help you succeed. In addition, selected companies will have a chance to receive grant funding and guidance for successful deployment of Proof-of-Concept projects with an industry partner.

The program focuses on exploring product-market fit between Queensland industry needs and innovative solutions. A cohort will be supported by mentors and experts in the development of go-to-market strategies and business growth.

You will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders from across Queensland’s climate technology ecosystem including government, universities, industry, and investors.

Finally, the Low Carbon Accelerator provides a pathway for industry to pilot and test solutions that can help them lower their carbon emissions.

An initiative by the Department of Environment and Science in partnership with the Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, and delivered by the team at Innovation Architects, to help achieve Queensland’s emissions reduction targets.

Program stages

The program comprises three stages of support and concludes with an in-person showcase of the outcomes of the Low Carbon Accelerator initiative in March 2023.

To progress to stage 2 and 3 of the program, participants from stage 1 will be assessed against evaluation criteria, with the most promising participants invited to advance.

Stage 1 - Bootcamp

Shortlisted applicants are invited to our two-day bootcamp on 4 and 5 October. You will meet with the program team and partners and mingle with other incredible innovators. Through a series of workshops, you’ll gain a 360-degree view of your product and business and develop clear objectives.

Stage 2 - Growth Lab

A cohort of 10 bootcamp participants will be invited to advance to our 6-week Growth Lab program. In this stage, you will be supported by the program team, our Expert-in-Residence and a network of mentors to develop a strong business case for your innovations and fast-track your industry access. You will focus on developing a strong business case and landing a Proof of Concept (PoC) project contract with an industry partner and will receive a $10,000 grant from the Queensland Government to accelerate the process.

Stage 3 - Proof-of-Concept (PoC)

5 companies from the Growth Lab, will receive grants of $20-$80,000 from the Queensland Government to implement their Proof-of-Concept projects with an industry partner. You will receive an additional 6 weeks of support from a team of expert navigators who will help you make the most of the opportunity.
